The racing season is officially launched!

Now that winter is here to stay, racing has begun on a few racing circuits over these past few weeks. This is the case with CTCP, which supports ice racing in Western Canada. The season opener in Beausejour gave us a good look at the USSA Pro Star category, which will be coming to Valcourt. Among other things, we got to see the F-III-class snowmobiles on the track for the very first time. With performances on the track that closely resemble the Pro Champ class, these snowmobiles are quite impressive.

The first round of the American ISOC championship in snocross was aborted on November 28 because of really bad weather conditions. Fortunately, the situation was exemplary when the races resumed last weekend in Fargo, both with regard to the weather conditions and the number of podiums topped by Quebecers. Taking their place amongst the top three–one after the other–the Pelletiers, Lebels, Poiriers et Legendres climbed up on the podium to chat with the event’s MC Haley Shanley.

On this side of the border, the season pre-opener will take place this weekend for athletes in the SCMX Championship. The organization has invited all the recruits to a special snocross initiation day. The first gathering for the new SCMX organization will take place this Saturday in Coaticook. The Grand Prix Ski-Doo de Valcourt team will be there for most of the day in order to meet athletes and visitors, and to attend the Dominator in the evening!
