The organization for the Grand Prix Ski-Doo de Valcourt, presented by Intact Insurance, wishes to clarify information that is circulating about the CHAMP and PRO CHAMP classes that will be presented during the upcoming 38th edition to take place February 7, 8 and 9, 2020.

International Snowmobile Racing (ISR), the organization governing all snowmobile races, has recently modified its regulations in relation to the PRO CHAMP classes.

The goal of these changes is to make the sport more accessible to all athletes, and the Grand Prix Ski-Doo de Valcourt has decided to move in that direction.

After consulting with most of the athletes and the various stakeholders involved, the organization has decided to stage snowmobile on ice oval races in both classes: Pro Champ (stock) and Champ (full mod).

In order to facilitate the transition for those athletes who will be competing in both classes, the race schedule will be as follows:

  • FRIDAY – complete CHAMP (full mod) and FIII program
  • SATURDAY – complete PRO CHAMP (stock) and FIII program
  • SUNDAY – complete PRO CHAMP (stock) program

The following classes will also be presented:

  • Pro Formula 500
  • Semi Pro Formula 500
  • Semi Pro Champ
  • Junior 340

The organization wishes to remind all athletes that there must be at least six (6) pre-registrations (adult) or four (4) registrations (junior) in a class for it to be presented.

This is a sport with a very long history, and we are mindful of the particularity of the current situation. In all cases, we strive to make the best possible choices in order to preserve the sport and encourage the next generation.
