PARKING
When you arrive at the accreditation office, you will receive a parking sticker allowing you to park your vehicle near the main entrance. Please note that no vehicles other than microwave transmission trucks or other production facilities are allowed in the vicinity of the press room.
PRESS ROOM
The heated media room is located on the 3rd floor of the F block of the main aisle, just off the marquee. You have free access from 8 am to 10 pm. Workspaces, electrical outlets and a WiFi connection are at your disposal.
Media wishing to have a broadband connection for live streaming or sending videos can also connect their devices in wired mode.
Food and beverages are available.
POLICY FOR THE MEDIA
Due to space limitations, we ask that you familiarize yourself with the following information in order to work in the best possible conditions:
- It is strictly forbidden without prior authorization, to use the WiFi connection of the press room to broadcast live races on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Periscope or Youtube.
- Certification is not transferable and can only be claimed by the person for whom it was granted unless prior authorization is obtained.
- Use of the accreditation for any purpose other than covering the event will result in immediate cancellation.
- Only representatives with daily deadlines will have a reserved seat in the press room.
- Only accredited media will have access to the interview area.
- The press room is reserved exclusively for accredited media representatives. Therefore, guests will not be received except for the athletes.
POLICY FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS AND CAMERAMEN
The VMSG is organized to ensure that athletes and media are safe throughout the site. In order to avoid incidents, photographers and cameramen will have to comply with certain rules.
Limited number of places; Photographers accredited to shoot at the center of the track will have to sign the waiver and wear the MEDIA bib provided by the GPSV. A $20 deposit will be required for the bib.

FROM IDEA TO PROJECT
In 1983, the Fédération des Clubs de Motoneigistes du Québec (FCMQ) was given the mission to organize a major gathering event for all snowmobile enthusiasts and riders in Quebec and elsewhere. Not one to shy away from anything, the organizing committee is taking on the challenge of creating a festival that will combine both festivities and races. The idea of the very first International Snowmobile Festival (FIM) was born.
THE FIRST EDITION
The only thing left to do was to find a venue to host a snowmobile racing event on an ice oval of this scale. After a tour of Quebec, the municipality of Valcourt, the cradle of snowmobiling, will host this unique event.
On February 11, 12 and 13, 1983, the first edition of FIM was held, thanks to Bombardier, which immediately gave its support to the project as a major partner. The success was instantaneous: More than 15,000 snowmobilers from all over North America converged on Valcourt. Never before have so many snowmobilers been attracted to the same place in one weekend.
REINVENTING ITSELF YEAR AFTER YEAR
Over the years, the International Snowmobile Festival has become the Grand Prix de Valcourt and today the Grand Prix Ski-Doo de Valcourt. The original ice oval racing program was supplemented by snowmobile events on a snocross course in 1999. The first ice bike competitions were held in 2003. In 2010, ATV racers were invited to participate in the Grand Prix de Valcourt. In order to improve the programming and stay on top of new trends in motorsports, the organization added drag racing in 2011 and the road circuit on ice for motorcycles and ATVs in 2016. Following the growing popularity of Snow Bike and its presentation at the X Games in 2017, this discipline will be integrated into the race program in 2018.
Although many events have been held since then, the Ski-Doo Grand Prix of Valcourt remains the largest winter motorsports event in the world in terms of the number of disciplines presented in a single weekend.
