There are only two race left for the Challenge Québec Motocross! We spoke with Emrick and Charles-Antoine Arès about their season so far.

This year, the two brothers are real opponents as we find them on the same starting line in Inter MX2 and Inter MX3. “Of course there is a rivalry between us, since we have the same goal, which is to win,” said Charles-Antoine. We each do our own race and we each try to focus on our season, adds Emrick ”.

The challenge is even greater for Charles-Antoine who faces stronger opponents, but his season is going even better than he expected. “The results obtained are beyond my expectations,” he adds. I didn’t expect to be able to ride with the front runners let alone go for a win like we did in Franklin last weekend”.

Practices that yield results :

The heat of the Challenge Québec Motocross started near Tring-Junction on June 20th. Emrick Arès started the season on fire by obtaining 3rd position in the inter MX3 final. For Charles-Antoine, this first race was a period of adaptation and he mentioned that he worked more on his starts afterwards.

“By practicing, I have seen improvement and sometimes I manage to come out in the first group, if not the first.” The second round on the Sainte-Julie side allowed Charles-Antoine to achieve his goals by securing 4th place overall in Inter MX3, just ahead of his brother. For Desbiens, it was Emrick’s turn to work on his starts for the next round following a little more difficult start this weekend. “Yes indeed, my departures are not where they should be. I always start in the middle of the pack and I have to push hard to get back to the top 3. At Franklin, I had much better starts in the top 3 and it is a great advantage to start in the first, we then finish in the first ” . ». According to him, the position at the start and the concentration are the key. “Your body weight has to be in the right place on the bike to get the maximum traction,” says Emrick. Reaction time is also important to leave at the same time as everyone else ”.

On July 25th on Sanair’s side, the two brothers remained in the top 5 overall, but it was on Franklin’s side on August 22nd that the two brothers had their best results! Under extreme heat, Charles-Antoines took the win with a hole-shot in Inter Mx2 for the first race and Emrick took the win also with a hole-shot in Inter Mx2 at the second race !

The next round will take place this weekend, September 4 and 5 near Issoudun and the last round taking place in Mirabel at X-TOWN has been brought forward on September 11 and 12 due to the new sanitary measures put in place. .The Arès brothers will be there to end the season well. “Yes we will be present. Of course the end goal is to win, but I’m going to ride safe to keep my place in the championship, says Charles-Antoine. For my part, I am aiming for first place in the Inter Mx2 championship and a top 3 in inter Mx3, adds Emrick ”.
